Estèle Merrot and Japanese matcha are a story of love, emotion and delight. She was first introduced to the green gold ritual in England where she started The Matcha Pause, an account devoted to matcha pictures. Charmed by its unique herbaceous taste, its voluptuous mouthfeel and its many health benefits, matcha quickly won the young Frenchwoman's heart.
Back in Switzerland, her adoptive country, she travelled from cafés to prestigious hotels, in search of a high-quality matcha, a task that proved to be unexpectedly difficult.
She noticed that many brands market poor-quality matcha with a dull color and diminished health effects. Seizing the opportunity that awaited her, Estèle created a brand that set to be a role model of excellence and impeccable taste for palates of matcha connaisseurs.
